Diane has 38 years of experience as an advocate for animals. Prior to joining Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control, Diane worked for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) as a Regional Director and Director of Disaster Preparedness and Shelter Management. She also served as executive director of humane organizations in Colorado and Washington State. Diane also has extensive experience serving on national boards, including the National Animal Care and Control Association board of directors as Vice President and President, Shelter Animals Count – the National Database Project (SAC-NDP) board, the National Animal Rescue and Sheltering Coalition (NARSC) and the National Alliance of State Animal & Agricultural Emergency Programs (NASAAEP) Sheltering Committee.

Kris Brown

Kris has been involved in cat rescue and fostering since 1999 with her first foster cat named Mystery for Texas Siamese Rescue. Over the years, cat rescue has lead into a passion for fundraising and volunteering. With the 2008 Cedar Rapids flood, a request for community help was needed to take care of the numerous animals out at the Kirkwood Campus Equine Center. With this experience stemmed a group of exceptional women and men who helped formed the Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control amazing "cat team" volunteer group. Since 2010, Kris has actively been helping with events and fundraising for the shelter. In 2016, she officially joined the FHFF board. Kris enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her granddaughter, Ava. She is owned by an 11-year-old Tabby named Cane, and 6-year-old Lionhead rabbit named Mocha.

Theresa is a passionate animal advocate who enjoys hands-on volunteerism in caring for our cats at Petsmart, helping with dog adoption events as well as fundraising for animal needs in the community. Theresa and her husband have a rescue cat, Gracie Pounce Rowland, 16 years, and rescue dog, Winnie Pastel Rowland, 12 years. Theresa and her husband enjoy traveling and exploring new cities.

Aletta was born and raised (by a cat) in Colorado. She has lived in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Illinois, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Florida, and now Iowa. She moved to Cedar Rapids in 2014 and is a loving catmom to Ozzy and Mysti who were both adopted from Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control. She has also raised, shown, and trained horses. Her lifelong love of animals drives her to volunteer, fundraise, and advocate for FHFF.

Megan is a passion-driven marketer and digital storyteller with an affinity for lifelong learning and animal advocacy. From campus to agency to non-profits, Megan has spent the past ten years crafting award-winning marketing campaigns and partnering with some of the best brands in education. She is a proud University of Iowa alum who enjoys living in and staying connected to the Corridor community through her with FHFF. When she’s not working or volunteering, Megan enjoys exploring new cities and seeing live music with her husband. They are the proud parents of two dogs, Suki, a fun-loving pekingese, and Roxi, a strong-willed papillon.
