Compassionate Advocates

The Friends Helping Friends Foundation is a compassionate advocate for the Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control.

Our non-profit organization works to enhance the care for homeless and displaced animals by building resources, leading development and advocating for the success of Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control.

At any one time, we are serving the health and comfort needs of more than one hundred homeless dogs, cats and other pets at the shelter.

By joining forces with the city shelter, we are able to benefit the animals and citizens of our community and improve the quality of life for both pets and people. Already with your help we have bolstered adoptions, improved animal care and services, sponsored training and education for staff, volunteers and community pet owners, and generated revenue for our cause.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your help and support. At various times throughout the year, we are in need of volunteers, not only at the shelter, but also to plan and participate at fundraising events.  Donations and gifts, at any time and of any amount, are put to work right away. And, as a small, volunteer board, we welcome inquiries and new members who want to join our cause.

Please help. Donate. Volunteer. Join us at an upcoming event. Through this website, we’ve made it easy to connect with the Friends Helping Friends Foundation.
